The regional deputy for the constituency of North West, Jesus Lopez, has tabled a question in the Regional Assembly, interested in the project of building a multicultural center in Caravaca.
Lee expressed his concern that warns of possible illegality in the draft that could not adjust to General Municipal Plan of Arrangement of Caravaca.
The question is addressed to the Director of Public Works and Territory Management, José Ballesta.
The socialist parliamentarian told that the city of Caravaca foresees the construction of that "multicultural center" in a plot to equipment, municipal property, for which will have a subsidy from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Region of Murcia .
To carry out this work, the city of Caravaca a competition which was selected a project that envisages the construction of different volumes, some of which exceeds 42 m.

The General Plan Municipal Zoning Caravaca de la Cruz, as finally adopted by order of the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Transport, November 25, 2005, Article 5.17, paragraph 10 of its rules, provides that no may permit buildings that exceed the maximum height set and, at best, can achieve for the whole municipality of 22 meters, much lower than in the reference block.
Therefore, said the deputy, the approved project does not fit so it might require the amendment of General Plan Municipal Management of Caravaca.
Previously, the Socialist parliamentary group in the House introduced a motion calling on the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to issue report on the adequacy of the law 4 / 2007 Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia and the Ministry Public Works and Planning to report on consistency with the guidelines of the Northwest territory that are pending approval, given the strong visual impact that the building will cause on the historic-artistic Caravaca de la Cruz.
