The closure of a clinic Vital Dent leaves its users without the services contracted (15/10/2009)

Murcia Association of Consumers and Users, CONSUMUR, part of the Federation FACUA-Consumers in Action, through the reporting of several affected, has seen the closure, on 30 October, Vital Dent Dental Clinic of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).

The vast majority of users were notified of the impending closure by the same staff when they went to an appointment with the specialist, in addition to an information poster located at the gateway to the clinic where reported the closure of the establishment and the possibility that patients continue the treatment of contracted services at clinics closer Vital Dent, such as those located in the municipalities of Sewer and Lorca.

However, this possibility does not extend to all affected users.

CONSUMUR has known, through the specific case of the persons concerned who, in the case of patients who, despite having paid full treatment at the beginning of this contract, do not have credit on the account linked to the clinic may not be referred to other clinics for the firm to continue with their treatments.

One of the cases known to the Association is a client who hired a dental treatment in 2006 which amounted to 2,432 euros cost, hiring treatment funding through a loan to twelve months without interest.

From the payment thereof, all costs were deducted from the amount paid, not having the user to pay any additional amount for the treatment carried out.

Treatment, whose initial term was two years has not been finalized by the setbacks caused by the frequent changes made by the company specialist.

Currently, the credit of the client is four euros and completion of treatment although there is no cost at the same clinic, that amount does not allow the user to continue the same treatment at another clinic, the possibility that at first, yes offered.

CONSUMUR advised affected users to claim their right to recover all or part of the money paid for treatments without end or be guaranteed in all cases their continuity in other centers.

Assistance should also cover potential problems that may arise during the warranty period of treatment.

In this sense, from the Legal Service Area CONSUMUR and from the Municipal Offices Consumer Information managed by the Association, have begun to process claims and various users involved.

The Association recommends that users affected by both the closure of the clinic Vital Dent de Caravaca de la Cruz as other facilities such as dental Dental Line, to denounce the situation and claim their rights.
