The PSOE has a motion in Parliament on Wednesday to fund the project for environmental restoration of the riverbed and banks of the River Quípar (24/06/2009)

Note from PSOE:

We recall that the City of Caravaca joined in 2005 to DRAFT ROBINWOOD (RW), which is funded by the European Commission.

Specifically in our town has developed the subproject: "hydrogeological and ecological recovery of degraded river channel and the Site of Community Importance (SCI): Quípar River."

The wording of that sub-project has been financed by European funds FEDER and presented at a conference of Robinwood Caravaca held in September 2007.

After some adjustments and adaptations, Caravaca City Council has the final draft to be executed, an issue which has committed the Segura basin with the contribution of 70% of funding through ERDF, for that project succeed.

The remaining 30% is to be provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water in the region.

The total project amount to just over 300,000 euros and now everything depends on the timely signing of the agreement by which the Autonomous Community is committed to providing 30% of the funding, if not, you will have to wait .

This project will provide environmental recovery of a unique stretch of the riverbed and banks of the River Quípar, which basically runs along the core of the hamlet of the Incarnation, and that continues for what is known as the Straits of the Incarnation.

The problem is that Quipar River has for years been receiving wastewater from the districts, with little clearance, until these were derived Wastewater Treatment Plant Caravaca.

This, along with other attacks, has meant a deterioration of both the channel and the banks of Quípar, something that the neighbors complain of the Incarnation as soon spend so much hope in his recovery as it is done more visits.

Therefore, as stated by the Speaker, Alfonso Sanchez, "we look forward to the favorable settlement of the House to urge that the Ministry of Agriculture and Water in order to give priority to the signing of that agreement for the financing and implementation of that project and, if necessary, the City of Caravaca also cooperate "because, as the Spokesman added," this will certainly help promote and give value to a place of interest as an important natural, scenic as historic as the Straits of the Incarnation.
