Some 70 members of the Association of Victims of Terrorism (AVT) met today in Caravaca de la Cruz to celebrate a day of coexistence and a sightseeing tour through the city.
The victims, mostly from the provinces of Cordoba, Alicante and Murcia, has been accompanied by the president of the national association, Juan Antonio García Casquero, the vice president, Perdaza Angeles, and the treasurer, Manuela Lacharro, as well as delegates in Murcia and Cordoba.
Most attendees were victims of attacks by the terrorist group ETA, but also were relatives of people killed in the attacks on 11 March.
Before starting the tourist route, members of AVT have been received in the Meeting Room of City Hall by the mayor, Domingo Aranda, transmitted to them the support of the people of Caravaca and has told them a message of hope for the future .
The mayor also handed over some gifts to the components of the policy in memory of the visit.
For his part, President of AVT is grateful to support received from the Consistory caravaqueño to celebrate this day of coexistence in which "shared experiences and try to leave aside the sentences."
In this sense, Casquero noted that victims are important signs of moral support because often face situations alone.
The Association of Victims of Terrorism is an apolitical organization of care and charity was founded in 1981 in order to assist and support all victims of terrorism and their families.
The role of the partnership was essential to the achievement of important political, social, and judiciary have improved substantially, the situation of victims.
It has also helped to awaken a greater sensitivity to those suffering from terrorist brutality.
Today the total population served by the AVT exceeds 6000 people.
