Moratalla donate a drum to the collection of the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda (12/06/2009)

The City Council and the Association of Drums of Moratalla donate a drum to the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda to become part of the permanent collection of the same.

The donation ceremony will take place next Tuesday, June 16, at 1930 hours with the presence of the mayors of Caravaca and Moratalla, Domingo Aranda and Juan Llorente, respectively, and the museum's director, Carlos Blanco, President Drum Association of Moratalla, José García.

Given the characteristics of the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda, has seen fit to donate a piece not only representative of craftsmanship Moratalla, but "with history."

The sample chosen, which undoubtedly will complete the section on the Northwest, complementing their "brothers" Mülenen, Forty is a string, which for more than 15 years has been stationed at Drum School Moratalla, having gone through the hands of hundreds of children who have started with him in the world drummer.

With the delivery of this instrument to the museum, is expected to help improve their already magnificent collection, as well as ensuring the presence of Moratalla in it, through one of the most characteristic elements of folklore and traditions.

On the other hand, this act is to strengthen the support and collaboration between the City Council and the Association Moratalla drum with the City of Caravaca and the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda.
