Caravaca City Council and the Society for Integrated Rural Development have launched a pilot initiative in the form of tourism resources and promote the Holy Year through downloads on mobile phones.
This service, called "Mobile Travel Guides" has been launched today by the mayor, Domingo Aranda, accompanied by the mayor of Tourism, Gonzalo López-Auguy, and the manager of Integral, Cayetano García.
At strategic locations in the municipality have been installed Bluetooth transmitters, inviting both visitors and citizens to download for free this comprehensive tourist guide to Caravaca de la Cruz on their mobile phones to keep and refer to it as often as desired.
Unloading areas are indicated by signs that advertise the service and invite them to stop.
One of them is in the Plaza del Arco, next to the municipal offices to the public, the second at the Tourist Office and third, at the entrance to the Basilica of the Blessed.

With the implementation of the project "Mobile Tourist Guide" provides greater accessibility, attractiveness and value to information and facilitates the use of services in tourism and practical to make the visit more comfortable and enjoyable.
This initiative has received support from the European Union, through the Community Initiative LEADER Plus.
This is a pilot project which aims to experience, through the use of information technology and communications, new possibilities, to promote and disseminate the heritage and tourism in the municipalities of the North West Murcia.
The project has launched a pioneer in Caravaca de Cruz and Calasparra.
