The City of Caravaca and the Red Cross yesterday set the stage for joint actions aimed at assisting social groups with basic needs.
The cooperation agreement it signed the mayor, Domingo Aranda, and the Red Cross president Murcia, Aurelio Luna, accompanied by the councilman of Social Promotion, Carmen Ruiz, and the head of Red Cross in Caravaca, José Alcázar.
With this agreement, Red Cross volunteers provide an escort service in the transportation of the day stay program, picking up the morning to users with motor disabilities, and accompanying them again in the evening to their homes.
Likewise, the agreement provides for the complementary activities of leisure and free time for these users during the weekends.
Among the commitments made by the City highlights grant of 12,000 euros to cover expenses for those services.
Responding to the needs of people with difficulties in social integration and cooperation in social welfare activities are two of the main purposes of the Red Cross, as noted its regional president, Aurelio Luna, who said the agreement with the City Hall marks the beginning of a greater presence and more intensive activity in Caravaca.
For his part, Domingo Aranda stressed the importance of this organization is present in the city as a mechanism to help close the current economic situation and encouraged the new team of the association to launch new programs and volunteer services with the support of the local administration.
