The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda, has shared in the morning a breakfast with representatives of various media to take stock of the year ending and announce major projects that the government team will develop along 2009.
The mayor has suggested, that despite being a year marked by a crisis based on mistrust, the City Council continues to work with enthusiasm and hope to meet challenges and goals.
Aranda Sunday stressed in his speech that the main lines to mark the work of the City Council in 2009 will be the creation of employment through public works and promoting the city at all levels to publicize the coming Holy Year 2010.
"We will invest an amount of around 30 million euros in infrastructure necessary for the city, which undoubtedly will translate into new jobs," he stressed.
In terms of priorities that the government team is marked for next year is the implementation of major projects such as the Multifunctional Cultural Center, valued at 12 million euros, the network of shelters for pilgrims or remodeling Archivel Plaza of Spain.
In the educational area, the mayor has emphasized the expansion of schools and Basil Cervantes Sáez, points of care for children from the town, Archivel and Barranda and completion of the buildings of the Official Language School and playground traffic.
"The enhancement of our heritage has always been a priority of this government team.
We have done performances in all churches and chapels of our town.
For next year we are planning the second phase of restoration of the church of El Salvador and the restoration of the altar of Church of the Conception, "the mayor stressed.
During 2009 also culminate the day center and residence for dependents, the best social work of the legislature, in the words of the mayor, and the works of José Carrilero Museum and the adequacy of the Greenway as it passes through the town of Caravaca.
