The City closing employment workshops "Maintenance of Public Spaces and Community Services" (12/12/2008)

The Town Hall closed today Caravaca employment workshops "Maintenance of Public Spaces and Community Services" in the presence of the deputy director general for Employment, Rafael Olivares, the council of Employment, Salvador Gomez, and the director of the workshops, Diego Roca.

Previously, it has celebrated the opening of a garden situated at Mur Calvo has been built and fitted in recent months by student-workers.

This workshop is one of six consecutive workshops that has been operating in the municipality Caravaca, thanks to a grant 627,177 euros funded by the Employment and Training Service, the City Council and the European Social Fund.

The purpose of these workshops is to facilitate the employment of unemployed persons, mainly from fields in clear slowdown as marble and construction.

"From the city of Caravaca think it is good policy, especially in these times of economic crisis, so we ask for another workshop for next year," he noted Councilman Job, who also explained that the workshops has the twofold objective of providing citizens with measures for the employability and achieve an improvement in public spaces in the municipality.

There are currently other ongoing employment workshop entitled "Promotion and encouragement of new sources of employment 2008", which encompasses the specialties of Microcomputer Systems Techniques and editing Web pages, Installer of Photovoltaic Systems and Solar Energy, Jobs and Archaeology Assistants Maintenance of Public Spaces.

Two of these workshops are all female students to facilitate access of women to jobs where their participation is still a minority.

In this workshop, one year, involving a total of 33 student-workers, 29 women and 4 men, scattered in the fields of Home Help Service, Gardening and Maintenance of Public Spaces.

"The students have taken turns learning the training specified in each of their specialties, with additional training in areas such as IT, risk prevention and management, also gaining a vocational qualification through productive work activities performed in public and social interest carried over this year, "detailed the director of the workshops.

Some of the work done by the workshop "Maintaining Public Spaces and Community Services are:

Home Help Workshop: The students have responded to about 40 users, performing household chores and personal hygiene.

Gardening Workshop: We have for the maintenance of various landscaped areas of the municipality, such as those in the District Agricultural Office, New district, Glorieta and Plaza San Juan de la Cruz, Old Cemetery, Almazarica and Home for the elderly, among others.

Students have also worked in the nursery located at Las Fuentes del Marqués.

Maintenance Workshop Spaces: They have made actions to improve the Local Employment Center for Women, street Magisterium, former church of the Society of Jesus, Red Cross offices, Garden City, Glorieta and Junquico street, among other places.
