All funded groups have a common element that is ruled by caravaqueños or persons linked to the city, and that its purpose is to work for disadvantaged groups.
The value of grants distributed this year to about 25,000 euros.
Here are some of the groups and projects supported:
- Spanish Foundation for Leukemia: Shelter for children with cancer and their mothers in Guayaquil, where the only hospital cancer center, which serves the geographic area of Guayas with more than 50% of the population of Ecuador.
- Association of Friends of the Saharawi people of Northwest: Program 'Holidays in peace', consisting of the host families by the Northwest Region of Saharawi children from refugee camps in Algeria during the summer months.
- Association of College Parents of Special Education Ascruz: Summer School with therapeutic activities and entertainment for dependent children during the months when classes are interrupted in their school.
- Fe y Alegría: Movement for the integral popular education and social development whose activities are directed to impoverished and excluded sectors.
- Solidarity and Hope: caravaqueño Currently this group is working on two projects in Africa and two in Latin America, all related to children.
- Manos Unidas: Your funds are intended for development projects in the Third World and awareness campaigns of the population.
- Caritas Diocesan: Construction of a school for 300 children in Bolivia.
- Solidarity of the World: Organization formed by Carmelite working in Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
Is currently building a clinic for pregnant women and children.
- Delwende: NGO formed by parents of school Our Lady of Consolation, which focuses its efforts on building schools, clinics and nursing homes in the African continent.
