Local police have opened today the application period for obtaining the electronic National Identity Document.
The procedure is similar to that had been developed for the conventional ID card renewal.
The citizen must make an appointment at the offices of the local police or by phone 968702001 and will be on September 23 when they start the procedure in the House of Culture Emilio Sáez.
The document will be delivered personally to the owner the next day.
The Electronic National Identity Document (DNIe) was developed to respond to the needs of the Information Society.
It is similar to the traditional and main novelty is that it incorporates a small integrated circuit (chip), can securely store and to process information internally.
In order to incorporate this chip, the ID changes its traditional support (plastic card) with a plastic card, equipped with new and enhanced security measures.
This new version of the National Identity Card will allow us, in addition to its traditional use, access to new services in the Information Society and expand our ability to act at a distance with the public, with businesses and other citizens.
