Three contests promote the knowledge and research of the history of the Region of Murcia (04/12/2015)

As part of the celebration of V Local History Day, held yesterday in Caravaca de la Cruz, the call three contests that aim to promote knowledge and research on the history of the Region of Murcia was announced.

Specifically, the Foundation Center for Historical Studies and Local Research Region, in collaboration with the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, has called the award "Images and sounds of the Region of Murcia", developed by the Integra Foundation;

the award of "Research" with the Payá Pérez Crespo Foundation;

and finally, the "historical narrative" award.

Bases that regulate the three contests will be available on the website www.fundacioncentroestudioshistoricos.com.

Prizes will be awarded in Caravaca in April next year.

The contest about historical account is aimed at students in secondary and high school centers in the Region of Murcia.

The theme will be free fiction, but must be set or relate to any monument, space, event or character in the history of the region.

This event includes their bases in a special category, in which the best story set in Caravaca de la Cruz will be awarded.

The V Local History Day was held at the House of Culture with the round table "History, heritage and education, a question of identity", with the participation of the mayor, José Moreno;

Councillor for Culture and Heritage, Oscar Martinez;

Professor of History at the caravaqueño John of the Cross Institute, Jesus Lopez and historical researcher Juan Antonio Martinez.

The event, moderated by the chronicler of the Region of Murcia, José Antonio Melgares, was also the director of the Foundation Center for Historical Studies and Local Research in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Chacon, and the director of the chair 'Juan Torres Fontes' Juan Hernández Franco.

One of the main purposes of the Foundation Center for Local Studies and Historical Research in the Region of Murcia is to ensure the promotion and development of men and women through historical culture as an instrument of liberation and generator supportive attitudes and values .

Among its activities is the annual celebration of the Regional Local History Day.
