More than 200 artisans from all over Spain come together in the XII Medieval Market in Caravaca de la Cruz (01/12/2015)

During the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th of December, shows and characters ambientarán the medieval streets of the historic town

During the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th December, coinciding with the bridge of the Constitution, more than 200 artisans from all over Spain will meet in the twelfth edition of the Medieval Market in Caravaca de la Cruz.

The market, located in historical streets, will be decorated with decor and an extensive program of shows and entertainment for all ages.

The Medieval Market, organized by the departments of Tourism and Handicrafts of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz in collaboration with the Association of Producers and Artisans 'The Log' will begin this Saturday, at 11.30, with the inaugural parade from Plaza Paco Pim to Plaza del Arco, where the proclamation of opening will take place.

The entertainment groups, formed by pipers, jugglers, giant puppets, mythological beings and falconers will participate in this activity.

On the opening day also held the Grand Medieval Feast of the Sovereign Order of the Temple, beginning at 14.30 am in the old church of the Jesuits.

This year the tour is extended with the street Rafael Tejeo, where they also craft stalls, children's corner, with workshops and attractions-, craft demonstrations and Mini Zoo reptiles and mammals located.

In this space, on 5, 6 and 7, at 20.00 hours, will be a fire show, with free tasting of queimada.

The decor to acclimate the streets in medieval times was also enhanced this year, looms, banners and designed and developed by the own association of artisans flags.

Popular daily meals will be offered at the price of three euros on Paseo de Santa Clara, where besides traditional stalls and food tasting will be located.

The Department of Safety and Emergency Traffic provided a special device, which involved local police and Civil Guard, supported by volunteers of Civil Defense and Red Cross health services, with two ambulances.

They are enabled overflow parking areas in the old railway station in the (sports complex with Francisco Fernandez Torralba) fairgrounds and the sun behind the Regional Fire Station.

The market tour will start in Gran Vía, and continue along the Canalica and Puentecilla streets towards the Plaza del Arco and Plaza Nueva, the street the nuns, the Passeig de Santa Clara, to return to the College, Major streets and Rafael Tejeo .

The time in which the entertainment and shows will be held, will be from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 22.00.

The stalls will offer their handmade products of the most varied specialties, such as: decoration and painting, lace, forging, paint cribs, distillation of aromatic plants, gastronomy octopus, construction of flutes, working esparto, puppets, confectionery, bakery, charcuterie-delicatessen, nougats, carpentry, beekeeping, cheese, weaving rugs, making homemade soap, pottery, jewelry, natural cosmetics, leather goods, wood and papier-mâché, toys and so on.

Municipal Bureau of Tourism and Tourist Information Point will be open from 5 to 8 December, from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 16.30 to 20.00.
