A twenty experts will speak at Caravaca heritage as a driver of rural development (09/11/2015)

The conference is aimed at people interested in knowing the cultural and natural values ​​of the Northwest Mula River and Sierra Espuña

Caravaca de la Cruz hosts the 12th, 13th and November 14th the first conference archaeotourism and Ecotourism 'Land of Iberians', focusing on the heritage element in generating strategies and ideas for territorial development.

These seminars are free to attend and are directed to the public interested in knowing aspects of the cultural and natural values ​​of the municipalities in the Northwest Region, Rio Mula and Espuña.

In the same they will participate more than 20 speakers, who will discuss past, present and future for the proper use and enjoyment of heritage as a cultural, tourist and economic engine of rural society projects.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week, lectures and round tables will be held in the auditorium of the old church of the Jesuits.

They involve leading researchers and experts in the field, which will be announced actions aimed at the recovery and survival of the legacy of the past, through EU-funded projects, academic research and private initiatives.

The discoveries of rock art in Caravaca and Moratalla;

Begastri excavations, the Visitor Center of the Villa Romana de Los Villaricos Mula, the Wine Museum of Bullas or Argárica Espuña Road will be among the issues to be put on the table during these days.

The First Conference of archaeotourism and ecotourism are organized by Land Iberians and Society Historiológicos and ethnographic studies of the Highlands of Argos, Quípar and Alhárabe, along with the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, and financed by funds Leader, which manages the Society for Integrated Rural Development and the region.
