A campaign encourages recycling activities at street level and educational talks in schools (20/10/2015)

To encourage recycling and promote good practice in the process of separation of household waste, the Department of Environment has launched this week a new edition of the "Caravaca separated Caravaca Recycle".

This initiative includes several actions in all schools of primary and secondary town and the weekly market.

The campaign, funded by Ecoembes, special emphasis on how to correctly separate waste at home, providing information of what can not be deposited in specific containers, to minimize improper rate in the city.

Also disclosed Ecoparque service, located at the site of Cavila, and Mobile Ecoparque, which is installed during the week in different strategic points of the town and villages.

In addition to the information activities at street level, in all schools and colleges of the municipality will provide educational talks and gameplay "The tree of life", to put into practice the knowledge acquired.

"It's important that people know the advantages of manufacturing products with recycled materials, rather than with original materials, since normally has a lower cost and also represents a significant saving of water, energy and natural resources," said Councilman who heads the Environment area, Enrique Fuentes.

The mayor of the Environment took the start of the campaign "separates Caravaca Caravaca Recycle" to provide data regarding the rate of recycling in Caravaca de la Cruz.

Thus, in the yellow container, the average per kilogram inhabitant in 2015 stood at 9.15, while the national average is 12.3, which is mainly due to improper level rises to 35%.

In the blue container, mean 2015 is 7.77 kilograms, while national is set to 15.

As for the service "Door" which shops in town is provided, there has been a marked increase in recent years, from 23 tons in 2012, 60 in 2014 and 90 in 2015. This is why, Councillor for Environment congratulated the group of traders, since the level is well above the national average.
