The foundation Robles Chillida delivers its annual awards to researchers in the field of Health (14/10/2015)

The event had the participation of the president, the mayor of Caravaca and the Director General of Universities and Research, with members of the board that governs the foundation

Robles caravaqueña Chillida Foundation has awarded its Prize Research, Development and Innovation (R + D + I) area of ​​Health Sciences, fruit of the collaboration agreement it has with the University of Murcia.

The ceremony was led by the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, and has enjoyed the participation of the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, José Moreno;

the Director General of Universities and Research, Luis Javier Lozano;

Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Murcia, Juan Antonio Garcia, and the president of the foundation, Amador Lopez.

The mayor had words of praise for the foundation Robles Chillida and University of Murcia for their work in favor of the research field.

After the reception at the Plenary Hall of the City, they have moved to the sacristy of the old church of the Jesuits, where he has been delivery of diplomas to beneficiaries and presentation of the winning projects of this third edition of the awards.

This year we have awarded two research awards, worth 10,000 euros each.

Selected works have been "Identification of new markers of adverse cardiac remodeling and ventricular arrhythmia in predicting sudden death after acute myocardial infarction" and "comparative use of two sources of mesenchymal cells for the treatment of osteonecrosis of the jaw" that they have been submitted by their principal investigators, Domingo Andrés Pascual and Ricardo Elias Onate Figal Sanchez, respectively.

Support for international mobility for teachers of the University of Murcia, endowed with 4,000 euros, was awarded to Antonio Garcia Gázquez the project "Influence of placental lipid transport in the fetal programming of obesity."

The first prize in the dissertation, worth 3,000 euros, went to Dr. Antonio Blas Martinez Nicholas, author of "Intercommunication between synchronizers and human cardiac system."

And the second, worth 2,000 euros for research "Advances in knowledge of chromogranin A and other salivary biomarkers of stress in pigs," by Dr. Damian Escribano Tortosa.

Robles Chillida Foundation is a nonprofit that aims for the help of university studies and research in the region of Murcia organization.

Pharmacist named after Elijah Manuel Robles Chillida, who donated his estate to initiatives that promote, among other things, the health and welfare of citizens.

The board that governs the foundation is made up of various charges related to research and teaching.

Besides contributing to the funding of research projects, the foundation awards annual scholarships to students studying in schools in the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz, which are aimed at students with better academic records.

The foundation aims to thereby promote a love of learning, the honest commitment to society through intellectual work, since the beginning of the academic life to the higher stages.
