Editing Caravaca Fair held last weekend, it has continued the format recovered last year with great success and acceptance and wanted to bring back to town all activities with the aim of boosting our streets with their shops and hospitality and recover lost ancestral essence of our city Fair, whose first known data back to the year 1573, as published by the municipal archivist at other times.

While not hide my satisfaction to see how the current municipal government has continued the seed that was planted last year left a model ready to show the same exponential growth, I also need to highlight the lack of planning and promotion Caravaca Fair in strategic places beyond our town, populations that have historically been faithful to his appointment with the fair.

This has resulted, in my opinion, in an apparent drop in visitors from other towns, and I believe that this decline is precisely because of this lack of promotion by appropriate means.

Such events are made for caravaqueños, but mostly thinking that make them attractive for visitors who purchase and consume in Caravaca and contribute to inject a dose of optimism in the local economy.

The effort and the coordination of all stakeholders to conduct three days of activities should have a financial reward to make profitable such initiatives, especially for sectors like the automotive industry that have been directly affected by the economic crisis, but also for sectors such as retail and hospitality, which this year have seen has reduced the turnover achieved last year, a direct result of lack of proper planning and promotion.

Moreover, such initiatives mixing with other clearly partisan, such as free rice popular in the school of San Francisco, making even match dates, I do not think of receipt.

Possibly, if the show had been held taking advantage of the bridge on October 12 as was done last year, their impact would have been also higher.

Another event last weekend was held was the Social Contest Dressage organized by the Equestrian Center, which brought to our city more than 70 riders from across the region of Murcia and suffered from lack of institutional support, when it is a type of activity that goes to the root of the fair and also generates wealth and can become a showcase for Caravaca and varied social life.
