The Municipal People's Party in the city of Caravaca registered this morning a motion for debate and vote in the next regular plenary session in September urging the municipality to join the network of cities to host Syrian refugees and creating a bag of persons or families willing to host or provide any assistance to those affected by the war.
GMP spokesman Jose Francisco Garcia, said that "we can not remain indifferent to the tragedy they are living thousands of families fleeing the horror of the civil war and hatred and death that is spreading terrorism of the Islamic State".
"The Municipal People in the City of Caravaca considers that our town should join the network of support that is taking shape in receiving such persons and provide assistance to 2,000 families as announced by the Government of Spain will host our country. We a moral obligation of solidarity with people fleeing war-torn or direct consequences of her country, "added Garcia.
Syria lives mired in a civil war since 2011, a contest that has claimed more than 200,000 victims and has plunged the country into a situation of despair.
The Syrian people are the only harmed by this situation, resulting in thousands of refugees and displaced persons.
To this we must add that the terrorist group Islamic State has taken the dramatic race to advance through large areas of the country, sowing death and destruction.
