The Municipal People in the City of Caravaca has filed a motion for inclusion, debate and vote in the next regular plenary session in July, asking that the City of Caravaca de la Cruz undertake the culmination of the 'El Camino de la Vera Cross', its value and its dissemination for next Holy Year 2017. This path is born in Roncesvalles and along more than 900 kilometers, it crosses five regions and dozens of towns and cities on a more structured tour 30 stages.
In this regard, the spokesman of the Municipal People's Party, Jose Francisco Garcia, said that "this pilgrimage route, already traced and whose most laborious work is done, combines historical, landscape, sports, human and cultural values, being an element , well-crafted and disseminated, it can become an appealing and attractive tourism product and an excellent source of opportunities for socio-economic development of the territories through ".
For this reason, the GMP requested at the next regular plenary session that the City undertake the enhancement and promotion of 'El Camino de la Vera Cruz';
to establish official contacts with the autonomous regions and municipalities by running this route, promoting the signing of cooperation agreements with them;
to request the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia the necessary cooperation to bid this path and that within the departments of sports and tourism activities such as hiking and walking routes, like those organized in the Camino de Santiago organized "so that we caravaqueños themselves who begin to disclose this route," added Jose Francisco Garcia.
