A multidisciplinary team of eight professionals is developed the project "quality maps in the historic center of Caravaca de la Cruz".
This initiative is funded with 66,450 euros, 54,920 euros of which belong to European funds "Leader" program, which allowed the hiring by the City of Caravaca de la Cruz of these professionals for three months.
The project, among many other things, assesses the quality and decoration of houses, emphasizing the elements of interest to preserve and aggregates distorting aspects with the passage of time on the facades.
One of the main objectives is to contribute to the revitalization of the Old Town, providing the City of Caravaca de la Cruz of a major database for decision making in the development and implementation of strategic infrastructure projects and public facilities.
"Another purpose is to sensitize and raise awareness of the historic center and around the township on the current status of this urban area, asking for their collaboration to determine its many benefits and deficiencies and needs", as reflected in the project .
The architect in charge of the project, José Joaquín Pascual said that "we are making a social, economic and demographic analysis, rather than a purely urban or architectural work, and we are evaluating aspects such as age and sex of the population, index occupancy dwellings, ownership, use of premises, purchasing habits of their neighbors, accessibility, etc. ".
At the same time, through surveys, feedback from neighbors about the historical district, asking about their status, improvement measures, and deferred urgent needs, etc. is collected.
Once the project "quality maps in the historic center of Caravaca de la Cruz" completed they will present the work done and the conclusions thereof.
