The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has signed a collaboration agreement with the Autonomous Region for the development of the Housing Information System (SIVMURCIA).
The agreement, signed by the Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Francisco Barnabas, and the mayor, Domingo Aranda, "will allow having a completely new tool in Spain to locate the housing stock and facilitate decision-making in housing policy ", in the words of director.
The City of Caravaca de la Cruz is one of eight councils in the Region of Murcia which joined the Housing Information System.
The objectives of this system are known areas with surplus or deficit of housing in relation to the availability of land, developments in their occupation and state planning, state information of the housing stock in terms of aging and conservation ;
and incorporate information supply and demand for housing.
Additionally, this tool will create a census of empty houses, so that it is operating in all municipalities as soon as possible.
The agreement fosters institutional and corporate collaboration for the exchange of information related to the housing sector, to incorporate such information to Territorial Reference System through the geoportal SIVMURCIA.
SIVMURCIA is conceived as a thematic geoportal with different spatial information so as to allow the development of analysis and diagnosis as a basis for drafting plans and strategies on housing.
