Encourage energy saving in the home has been the main objective of "Green Homes" program, developed during the period of one year by the Department of Environment of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz.
This program has been carried out experimentally with the involvement of 16 caravaqueñas families whose members have participated in "eco-meetings" have been addressed in various environmental issues and shared initiatives to reduce consumption of water, electricity and gas .
"Green Homes" is an initiative aimed at families concerned about the environmental and social impact of their daily habits and behaviors are interested in adopting a more responsible for household management.
This, as has detailed the mayor of the Environment, Antonia Maria Alvarez, saving behaviors are promoted, with the distribution of a "Kit saving" formed by elements such as devices for water saving, led bulbs and reusable bags among other things.
The "Eco-meetings", which began in September last year, there has been talk of how to properly interpret the gua and gas bills and installation of saving systems such as aerators for faucets or aerators showers.
Also during this year have held workshops for making homemade soap and green cleaning products and snack salubable with which has been closed the first edition of "Green Homes" program.
This program, sponsored by the National Center for Environmental Education (CENEAM) and implemented by the City of Caravaca, has had its first edition in collaboration with the Public Water, hardware caravaqueña Sáez, edible "My Garden" and Leroy Merlin.
