Week Begins Caravaca Theatre with an updated version of the myth of Carmen (18/07/2011)

The XXXI edition of the Theatre Week Caravaca de la Cruz begins tonight at 23.00 in the Plaza de Toros with the updated version of the myth of "Carmen" Company Classical Theatre Sevilla.

The actors will present a new perspective of the character of Carmen, become a contemporary myths and most influential women in the artistic creation of the twentieth century.

The version presented by Classical Theatre of Seville puts the viewer with a Carmen that moves on land quite faithful to the lines of the opera and the novel, not to betray the axis foundational myth, but it delves into human relationships of the characters protagonists of the tragedy to rewrite them from a current and more realistic.

Play with the topics the author's own myth and reference texts to tighten and redefine contrasts with the complicity of the vision of a modern viewer.

This proposal seeks to approach the myths of Seville, to reach them through a classic look but also looking to read from today.

Tomorrow, Tuesday July 19, will be the turn of the comic genre Teatrosí with the company, which will take the stage at Plaza de Toros work entitled "Two men alone without a dot com or nothin '.

Actors Rodrigo Ponce de Leon Manolo Medina narrate amusing stories based on a natural humor and fun.

This comedy, with more than 600 performances in Spanish stages, has been a huge success by critics.

Theatre Week Caravaca de la Cruz, organized by the Culture Department of the City of Caravaca, is considered one of the festivals of the oldest performing arts those held in Spain.
