Caravaca starts tonight the countdown to receive Christmas with the opening of Belén Municipal and lighting installed on the main streets and shopping areas.
The planned activities will begin at 19.30 with the blessing of Bethlehem, located in the old Society of Jesus, along with a concert of flute at the Conservatory, turning on lights and a sampling of sweets.
The City of Caravaca Bethlehem has achieved over the past two years the first prize of the Association of Bethlehem in the Region of Murcia.
The Bethlehem is composed of over 200 static and moving figures, made by renowned craftsman Griñán Jesus Murcia.
The installation is complete with 15 buildings of the artisan Isabel Turner, among which the castle of Herod, the inn, the temple and the palace.
Moreover, the City has reduced by 20% the cost of mounting the ornamental lighting.
All designs used are made of LED-based technology microbombillas, which is reduced by 80% in electricity consumption and CO2 emissions to the atmosphere compared to traditional bulbs.
