The Regional Film "Francisco Rabal 'presented tomorrow, Saturday, in Caravaca de la Cruz (at 19:30, Theatre Thuillier) the restored copy of the film' La Cruz de Mayo.
The film picks up the festivities held in the northwestern region of Murcia during the month of May 1924.
The film has been recovered and restored by the Regional Film Murcia given their value as cinematic and anthropological heritage of our region, in collaboration with Spanish Film and Iskra Labs has released on DVD, as well as the printing of new copies deposited 35mm both sites.
The document, written anonymously, filmed in Caravaca de la Cruz in the first days of May 1924 and has a duration of 40 minutes, which reflects the main events of the celebrations in honor of the Blessed and Vera Cruz Caravaca.
Presents landscapes, historical and artistic heritage, customs and festivals in this town in the early twenties.
The DVD includes the copying of the program of celebrations of the feasts of Caravaca de la Cruz, 1924, thanks to the kindness of the owners (Family of Pedro Manero), the poster with the original title and a selection of photographs from the period provided by the Municipal Archives in the city.
Due to the importance that the content of the film has to Caravaca and of the commemoration of the Jubilee, the premiere of the restored copy will be held at the Teatro Thuillier.
The screening will be attended by the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, and the director of the Regional Film Archive, Joaquín Cánovas, and will be accompanied on piano by Emilio Granados Grill.
DVD of 1,500 copies have been printed and will be sold at a price of 10 euros, in bookstores, kiosks and in museums in Caravaca Jubilee.
