The Hall of the nature of the sources is renewed with an investment of 91,000 euros (30/09/2010)

The Hall of Nature Caravaca de la Cruz, located in the hamlet of Las Fuentes del Marqués, has undergone improvement and expansion works with an investment of 91,000 euros.

This renovated space, which will be attended schools across the region, was inaugurated this morning by the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, and the director general of the Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, Pablo Fernández, accompanied by the Councillor for the Environment, Antonia Maria Álvarez.

The actions foreseen in the draft reform and expansion of the Hall of Nature have allowed double the capacity, going from 89 to 161 m2, in addition to giving it a new multipurpose room, toilets and stores.

"It has become a space for learning, located in a natural landscape is extraordinary as the Fuentes del Marqués," said Aranda, who has invited schools in the region to participate in planned activities in the classroom.

With the launch of Nature's Classroom is to help develop positive behaviors and attitudes aimed at conserving the environment, and to offer schools a fun and entertaining experience based on coexistence and development.

During the visit to classroom study Caravaca users through workshops and guided tours of the three ecosystems that characterize the landscape of Las Fuentes del Marqués: water system, Mediterranean forest and agricultural land.

The Nature Interpretation Centre, located next to the classroom, it has been renovated this year with an investment of 72,000 euros.

In this space, museum contents have been adapted to modern times through innovation and technological trends and artistic and has edited an audiovisual work of 10 minutes duration.

The director general of Natural Heritage has used this opening ceremony to launch the campaign "Varied as a salad," network designed for classrooms of the nature of the region and addressed the students of Primary and Secondary.

The aim of this campaign, starting in the second quarter of course, is to discover the biodiversity of the regional flora, from the inland forests, riverbanks, gullies and salt marshes, to the underwater forests of Posidonia oceanica.

Educators Classroom Network will be responsible for spreading this campaign with screenings, debates and games like 'Bingo plants and landscapes', as well as the creation and maintenance by students of a small laptop with wild plants nursery Region.
