The mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, and the Director General of Tourism, Marina Garcia, opens tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9.30 am the First Forum Initiatives and Experiences of Greenways, which is held in Caravaca de la Cruz, coinciding with the Holy Year 2010.
The forum will share experience and knowledge to assist the transfer of best practices and foster collaboration between different Greenways in Spain.
The forum is organized by the Tourist Consortium of the Northwest Greenway and the Spanish Railway Foundation (FFE), with the assistance of the City of Caravaca.
A planned activities have been called the political and technical autonomous regions, municipalities and management bodies of existing greenways or in the pipeline, as well as environmental experts, ecotourism, rural development, entrepreneurs, organizations and citizen groups, universities and other institutions interested in the development of greenways.
Also responsible for the program will Greenways Spanish Railway Foundation, which involved providing expertise and knowledge.
From City of Caravaca have stressed the importance of this activity to work on new development projects in the Northwest Greenway, one of the main pilgrimage routes to the city.
In this regard, the Councillor for Tourism, Gonzalo López-Auguy, said that "the Northwest Greenway is a tourism product present but also future, the need to continue working and seek integration with other Spanish routes ".
