A large group of caravaqueños created Caravaca Sports Association is the Goal with the dual aim of promoting sport and continue to promote the city by major marathons that are held nationally and internationally.
The association, comprised of 68 amateurs to practice running and registered in the Athletics Federation of Murcia, has taken the name of Caravaca de la Cruz for the most popular marathons, such as those held in Barcelona, Seville, New York, London, Paris, Madrid, Prague and Rotterdam, among others, as well as a number of half marathons and shorter distance tests that take place in different parts of the Spanish geography.
The last test that these corridors have been present caravaqueños has been held in Torralba de Calatrava (Ciudad Real), where various components achieved podium finishes in various categories.
The main activity planned by the association for 2010 is the participation in the Berlin Marathon, considered one of the most prominent of the world.
From the directors of the Association is the Goal Caravaca explained that the association arose from the participation last year in the New York marathon.
"The purpose is simply to continue to promote the practice of a sport that is booming and increasingly has more followers and at the same time, continue to publicize the name of our city on national and international sporting events" have informed.
