The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the operation 'DAROMUN', has developed an investigation aimed at identifying the person who fired a shot from an address in Caravaca de la Cruz, which has culminated in the arrest of a neighbor of the municipality, with a large criminal history, which is attributed to the alleged authorship of the crimes of illicit possession of weapons and ammunition, threats and theft with force.
A hunting shotgun, recovered in 2016, has been recovered from an agricultural estate in Lorca, whose numbering had been erased.
The investigation began when, early on Monday morning, on the 23rd, the Guardia Civil was alerted to alleged shootings from a private address, located in Caravaca de la Cruz, which generated some social alarm in the municipality.
Agents specialized in prevention of citizen security, in collaboration with local police of the municipality, moved to the site and started the work aimed at locating possible witnesses and indications that allowed the clarification of the facts and the identification of the author of the shots.
The investigations were positive with the location of the property from which the detonations had taken place, carried out by an individual, a neighbor of the municipality, who apparently, after having had an argument with other people, accessed the home of a relative and, from a balcony, shot with a gun, while vociferous in a threatening tone.
The agents identified the alleged perpetrator of the incident as a 30-year-old male with a large criminal record, some of whom were related to public disorder and threats, who was arrested as alleged perpetrator of the crimes of illicit possession of weapons and threats.
A hunting shotgun, with the numbering erased, was seized at the house, the owner of which had reported his abduction last year at an agricultural estate in Avilés-Lorca.
In this sense, the arrested, in addition, is attributed the alleged perpetration of crime of robbery with force.
The detained person lacks a weapons license.
The arrested 30-year-old Spaniard from Caravaca de la Cruz, the recovered weapon and the investigations have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 1 of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia), who has ordered his pre-trial detention .
