The competition 'Ultra 90K Camino de la Cruz' merges sport, tourism and pilgrimage on October 7 (29/03/2017)

Merge into the same sport, tourism and pilgrimage event is the philosophy of the new sporting event 'Ultra 90K Camino de la Cruz', which will join the next 7 October the cities of Murcia and Caravaca de la Cruz.

The event is completed with the marathon Camino de la Cruz, Mula-Caravaca.

The competition, which is destined to become one of the great sporting events of the Jubilee Year 2017, along with La Vuelta Ciclista España, was presented in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga, with the presence of the mayor of the city, Jose Moreno, mayors of the rest of Municipalities of the Northwest Greenway;

The Minister of Tourism and Economic Development, Juan Hernández, and the president of the Regional Athletics Federation and technical director of the event, Juan Manuel Molina.

The 'Ultra 90K Road of the Cross' is organized by the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with Senderismo Solidario, Federación Española de Nordic Walking, Consorcio de las Vías Verdes de la Región de Murcia and Fundación Camino de The Cross, as well as the municipalities of Caravaca de la Cruz, Murcia, Alguazas, Molina de Segura, Campos del Rio, Albudeite, Mula, Bullas and Cehegín.

The race will have as exit zone the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga and the goal will be located in the Royal Basilica of the Vera Cruz de Caravaca.

It will count with a maximum of 1,500 participants (1,000 in the Way of the Cross, 500 in the Northwest Greenway Marathon and 500 in Kids Pilgrims).

The enrollment period will be open from May 6 to September 24 or reach the limit of places, on the website www.90kcaminodelacruz.es.

Participants in the 90K will have a maximum of 24 hours to reach the goal, having to pass through the intermediate points in the established times, having to abandon otherwise.

You can run, walk or walk with or without walking sticks, and it is also suitable for people in wheelchairs and with functional diversity taking into account the distance, but that is a level and accessible ground.

The route combines the homologated trails of the GR 127 "Segura River Road", along the Segura river between Murcia and Molina de Segura, and the GR 250 "Camino delApóstol", along the Greenway between Molina de Segura and Caravaca.

There will be prizes for the winners by categories, teams and couples, with trophy commemorative for the first three of each of the sections, as well as a weekend in hotels of Costa Cálida Region of Murcia for the winners.

In addition, all those finishers of the 90K will receive the seal of the pilgrim sealed, a "Finisher" medal numbered and limited to 1,000 pieces, in addition to a commemorative diploma in which the number of the medal won and the official time .
