The Project Man delegation in Caravaca attended 104 people during the past year (31/01/2017)

The delegation of Proyecto Hombre in Caravaca de la Cruz served a total of 104 people during the year 2016, compared to 80 who received information and treatment during 2015, as it was made public in the presentation of the annual report of Activities that this institution develops in municipality, by virtue of a collaboration agreement with the Consistorio caravaqueño.

The mayor, José Moreno, was accompanied by the president of the Foundation 'Solidarity and Reinsertion', Tomás Zamora;

The director of Proyecto Hombre, Asunción Santos, and the therapist responsible for the programs and activities carried out in Caravaca, Concepción Nortes.

José Moreno has reaffirmed the commitment of the City Council to continue working with Proyecto Hombre in the area of ​​prevention, information and treatment of drug addiction and addiction problems.

"It is fundamental the service provided by the neighbors of the Northwest who come to this service and their families, helping them to recover normality after facing a problem of these characteristics," he said.

Proyecto Hombre develops in Caravaca de la Cruz since 2016 the so-called 'Night program', treatment directed to those people with an addiction problem, which can be made compatible with work or studies.

Likewise, a treatment directed specifically to young people and adolescents between 14 and 21 years old, who present problems of beginning of consumption of alcohol, cannabis or cocaine is underway.

In addition, Project Man therapists offer information and support to anyone who needs it from the headquarters located in the Municipal Center for Employment, Equality and Training.

The 'School of Parents' and the preventive programs 'Between all' and 'Puzzles', taught in schools, are also carried out.

Of the 104 people treated during 2016, 20 received treatment in the 'Night program', 39 participated in the specific program for families, 41 went to the information and diagnosis services and 4 users were referred to other resources.

Both the mayor and the president of the Foundation 'Solidarity and Reinsertion' have had words of gratitude to the Diocese of Cartagena and the Cofradía de la Vera Cruz for allocating half of the donations received during the Jubilee Year 2017 Project Man.
