Caravaca will have 24 hours of emergency service in primary as of February 16 (30/01/2017)

The Caravaca primary care emergency service performed last year about 35,000 attentions

The Minister of Health, Encarna Guillén, announced during her visit to Caravaca that the municipality's primary care emergency service (SUAP) will offer assistance 24 hours a day from February 16.

This action is included in the Internal Reorganization Plan of the Region's SUAPs, which was approved by the Sectorial Health Table at the end of December, whose purpose is to improve health care of an urgent nature, endistent points in the Autonomous Community.

This measure is an increase of two more professionals in the workforce, a doctor and a nurse, so that the SUAP will be equipped with five doctors, five nurses and four guards.

Thus, you can offer assistance on working days, in the morning, from 08:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in order to attend notices at home and in the country, while from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the following day Will attend the out-of-hospital urgencies that come to its facilities.

Likewise, on sundays and holidays the SUAP will continue with a doctor and a nurse.

Guillén explained that "the objective is to guarantee the continuity of the service during the 24 hours and watch over the quality of care received by the citizens of the Region."

In addition, he added, "will improve the operation of the health center in the morning, as health professionals will not have to be mobilized in the face of an external emergency, which can be addressed by the SUAP team."

The SUAP of Caravaca, according to data of the Management of Emergencies and Sanitary Emergencies, last year performed more than 35,000 assists.

Of these, 30,000 were in the SUAP, 2,000 at home and on public roads and more than 3,000 programmed nursing treatments. Its scope of action is urgent care to the population belonging to the basic health areas of Caravaca and Caravaca-Barranda.

Health care resources in Caravaca

Caravaca is integrated in the area of ​​health IV-Noroeste, next to the municipalities ofBullas, Calasparra, Cehegín and Moratalla.

In addition, the resources of this area serve the patients of the neighboring populations of Nerpio and Topares, belonging to Castilla La Mancha and Andalusia, respectively.

In the municipality there are two basic areas of health in primary care, which correspond to the health centers of Caravaca and Barranda, 12 clinics and a point of special isolation.

The hospital center of reference is the Hospital Comarcal del Noroeste, located in Caravaca.

Out-of-hospital emergency resources in area IV-Northwest

The health area of ​​the Northwest has two SUAPs, Caravaca and Cehegín;

Three points of special attention (PAC), in Bullas, Calasparra and Moratalla, and three points of special isolation (PEA), in Benizar, Cañada de la Cruz and El Sabinar, which operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
