The Info and Caravaca City Council have designed a plan to promote projects in tourism, gastronomy and new technologies (02/08/2016)

The regional development agency launched a program to create twenty companies and entrepreneurial opportunities linked to the Jubilee Year.

The Institute of Development and the City of Caravaca de la Cruz will launch a program to encourage the creation of twenty new businesses and generate entrepreneurial opportunities linked to Caravaca Jubilee Year 2017. The plan aims to promote entrepreneurship projects in areas such as tourism, gastronomy and new technologies.

The director of Info, Javier Celdrán, and the mayor of Caravaca, Jose Moreno, have held a working meeting, which also involved, Esther Poveda, Councillor for Education and Youth, and Gloria Gómez, Councillor for Tourism, Trade and Handicrafts;

to design the strategic lines of this plan.

The mayor, Jose Moreno, said that the first objective is the creation of employment and for this: "The caravaqueño council has approved a Plan of Corporate Development and Employment, which granted 170,000 euros in aid aimed at natural and legal persons starting their economic activity or hire workers, and develop this activity in our municipality. "

Moreno noted that these activities should be aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, self-employment and social economy, as well as those aimed at job creation, economic activity and revitalization and promotion of our municipality.

Also are conducting three'Programas Formación' Public Employment and tourism, maintenance of public spaces and suitability of premises in the Municipal Center for Employment, Training and Equality Aparado workshop.

In addition, in the coming months another program of "marketing and international sales" will start.

"The celebration in 2017 of the Jubilee Year ranks Caravaca as one of the five holy cities of the Christian world, which is an opportunity to boost local development and generate new opportunities for stable employment and future prospects linked to religious tourism in a municipality that currently has nearly 2,000 companies and the same number of autonomous "said Javier Celdrán.

The first step of this program will be the realization, between the months of September and October, a study to identify 20 potential business entrepreneurs.

Then, during November and December, it is planning to organize a conference to promote entrepreneurship that will have the cooperation of the municipality and the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia (ITREM).

The last step will be the development, from February 2017, the program "Speed ​​Up - Caravaca Jubilee Year", an initiative of creation and consolidation of companies linked to tourism in which training on entrepreneurship will and it will be advised of the best professionals, experts and mentors in the region.

The objective of this program, which is based on teamwork among participants and closes with a competition in which the ideas with the greatest potential and possibilities feasibility reward, is to give entrepreneurs the tools necessary to put start your project.

Specifically, the plan Info and the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz aims to promote entrepreneurship projects in areas directly related to the opening of shelters and rural hotels, manufacture and sale of products and religious handicrafts, intelligent applications for tourism or entry in value of local food products as well as recover the historical and artistic heritage of the area, to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem in which synergies are generated and can contribute to economic development.
