The Municipal Office of Consumer Information (OMIC) approaches during the months of April and May to secondary schools in the municipality to publicize the various services provided to citizens and the defense mechanisms that are available to consumers and users.
The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz promoted throughout the year various activities such as talks held recently in elderly centers and Archivel Barranda or these schools-workshops to promote information and education consumers and users, so that they act consciously, critically and responsibly, focusing especially on the most vulnerable groups, such as children, youth or the elderly.
During the workshops aimed at students of third of Secondary Education, the technician responsible for the OMIC shows the mechanisms of most common defense, like the leaves of claims, the services of the offices to the consumer, the functions of consumer associations and users, the inspection service consumption and consumer arbitration board as agile and effective way to resolve disagreements or similar type of economic system.
In 2015, the OMIC served a total of 2,773 residents.
Specifically, 2,312 inquiries and 461 complaints, representing 8.23% increase over the previous year were made.
Of the total complaints, 93% corresponds to the service sector, highlighting the related contracts and supply of electricity, mobile and fixed telephony, water, gas butane and Digital Terrestrial Television.
The OMIC Caravaca is located on the first floor of the Hall building.
Its opening to the public is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 09.30 to 14.00 and Wednesday from 17.00 to 20.00 hours.
