Elena Guillen and Ivan Gomez, the school Our Lady of Consolation, and Isaac Tejada, Santa Cruz school, have been finalists in the individual category, the thirteenth edition of the International Children's Painting Competition Aqualia.
As a prize, each received a game of "My first garden", along with a collection of books, hands Councillor for the Environment, Enrique Fuentes, and the Councillor for Education, Esther Poveda, by the head of the Municipal Service waters, Mario Gonzalez.
Municipal representatives thanked the collaboration of schools and participation of children, who have shown great creativity when capturing a role in the future of water passes through clever use of this valuable resource.
For his part, the representative of Aqualia stressed "the very clear and creative way with which have shaped their ideal and have given life, bringing water to people, animals and plants, as we do every day from the municipal service water".
The event was convened to coincide with World Water Day under the slogan "Fill your world of life."
The target set by the organizers was to highlight the importance of responsibly use natural resources, including water, to contribute to sustainable development of our immediate environment.
In this year they have involved about 8,500 students of 3rd and 4th Primary of the municipalities in which Aqualia serves in Spain and Portugal.
Child international competition is an initiative that has thirteen years spreading among younger comprehensive knowledge of the water cycle and how simple everyday gestures can contribute to a more efficient use of this natural resource.
In this way, the City of Caravaca de la Cruz and Aqualia demonstrate its commitment to the development of initiatives that allow instill from an early age, the great responsibility of the whole society with management and responsible use of the limited natural resources.
