Cecilio Perera opens next Monday Guitar Festival 'City of Caravaca' (07/03/2016)

The V Guitar Festival 'City of Caravaca de la Cruz' is held from 14 to 17 March, with lectures, conferences and concerts, organized by the Conservatory 'Leandro Martínez Romero' with the cooperation of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz and Cajamurcia Foundation.

"We present a festival that, in addition to enriching the cultural agenda of the town with musicians of international stature, contributes to strengthening the training work that takes place in the Municipal School of Music and the Conservatory, as all activities are aimed especially at the students of guitar, but are also open to the general public ", as highlighted by the Councillor for Education, Esther Poveda, who presented the poster of this fifteenth edition, accompanied by the coordinator of the festival, Erick Tinoco, and director Cajamurcia, Antonio Calixto Garcia.

The concerts begin next Monday, March 14, at 20.00, with guitarist Cecilio Perera, who has participated in five editions of this festival.

Perera is considered one of the most important Mexican guitarists in recent years in the genre of classical guitar.

It is winner of 'XII International Guitar Competition in Havana, Cuba 2004', one of the most important competitions in the world, and has been awarded the 'National Youth Award in Arts Mexico 2003' by the significant achievements in his career as a guitarist.

After the concert Perera, on Tuesday, March 15, at 20.00 the guitar and viola duo Ditirambo, composed of Alfonso Aguirre and Noelia Gomez, will perform the Cultural Hall Cajamurcia.

These musicians have performed in numerous scenarios Portugal, United States and Spain.

Among his performances, he highlights the duo performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Segovia, in the Courtyard of the Alcázar of the city.

On Wednesday, 13, it will be the turn of Maria Bastida, Rosa Maria Torres, Jesús Ortega and Ramón E. Sanchez, all former students of the conservatory caravaqueño, who now receive higher education in Murcia and Alicante.

They perform at the Cultural Hall of Cajamurcia, at 20.00 hours.

Concerts will be closed on 14, with Anders Clemens, award-winning musician in several international guitar competitions like 'Infanta Cristina-J.Guerrero' (Madrid), José Tomás '(Petrer-Alicante), "Julian Arcas' (Almería ) and 'Alhambra' (Valencia).

Although it was the International Guitar Competition "Andres Segovia" (Granada, 2003) which opened the doors to an international career as a soloist.

Since then he has performed in countries like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Austria, Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, South Korea and Brazil.

Acting both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles and orchestra.

He has played the 'Concierto de Aranjuez', under the baton of Juanjo Mena and the Oslo Philharmonic.

This concert will also be held at the Cultural Hall of Cajamurcia, at 20:00.

The recitals of V Guitar Festival 'City of Caravaca de la Cruz' will be accompanied by master classes Alfonso Aguirre, Cecilio Perera, Anders Clemens and Marco Smaili.

In addition the conference-exhibition 'Culture and art in South Korea' by Dong Keu Lan, (Tuesday 14 at 17.00) and the paper 'Perspective neuropsicobiológica of improvement and learning is also included in the program "(Thursday 17 at 18.00), delivered by Mª Encarna Andreu. Both lectures as the two conferences will take place in the hall of the conservatory.
