Deputy Choni Ludeña out that the footwear industry in the Northwest has traditionally been one of the economic bases of the area and states that it is necessary for consolidation and development of skilled labor and trained in the profession
The deputy of the Socialist Group, Choni Ludeña, has filed a motion in the Regional Assembly which calls for support for the City of Caravaca, the request made on 26 October 2015 to the Directorate General of Quality Education and Vocational Training, for the implementation of Vocational Training Intermediate Technical Footwear and Fashion Accessories, attached to higher education institutions "Gines Perez Chirinos" Caravaca de la Cruz.
Choni Ludeña, who has held a meeting with the Councillor for Education of the City of Caravaca, Esther Poveda, explained that the footwear industry in the Northwest has traditionally been one of the economic foundations of this area, currently being in the process of consolidation, development and evolution as a modern and solvent industry.
In the Region of Murcia there are 41 companies engaged in manufacturing footwear, of which 20 belong to the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz, with a turnover in sales of over 24 million per year.
"This activity has an important economic weight in the Northwest Region and currently specialty footwear within vocational training, only taught in Valencia, Elche and Elda, where there is a major industry in this sector".
At present expansion, "we believe it is necessary that the new additions of workers are skilled for this productive sector of the region should develop optimally, contributing to economic and social development of the population".
Therefore, the Socialist deputy considers essential the implementation of vocational training specializing in this sector for their consolidation and future development.
