The jury, made up of members of BBVA, El Celler de Can Roca and a representative of the independent consultancy ECODES, has assessed the innovative nature of the products, the environmental benefits such as the reduction of CO2 emissions or the bet for a circular economy, in addition to the social and economic impact of its production. All the 10, 12, 2020 selected products have the official seal of organic agriculture and livestock, official certificate of the European Union (EU). "The 'Sustainable Gastronomy' project is allowing us to raise awareness about how important healthy food and cooking is, and how necessary those small local producers are who pamper the product while caring for the planet with a sustainable and responsible exploitation of its resources ”, stated Joan Roca. For the Catalan chef, these awards have allowed him "to know the wide variety of companies that take sustainability as the basis of their work."
