With the mission of ensuring the protection of the rights of minors, acting against harmful or illicit behaviors and promoting positive attitudes among Primary and Secondary students, the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council has launched the figure of the 'Police Tutor', with the creation of two positions dedicated to the educational field within the police staff. Together with the mayor, José Francisco García, and the councilors of Citizen Security and Human Resources, José Santiago Villa and Ana Belén Martínez, respectively, the two agents have taken office, after their approval in the Plenary of the Municipal Corporation.

Police officers Pedro Abril Abril and Nieves Martínez Sánchez have degrees in Criminology, specialized in mediation and conflict resolution in minors, with extensive professional experience in the body and academic training in each of the subjects of the position. Its tasks also include the surveillance of the exteriors of the educational centers and surrounding public areas frequented by minors, as well as the improvement of the safety of the vehicular and pedestrian traffic with innovative projects in the municipality such as the 'Safe Path'. The agents will provide a continuous service during the academic year, with a schedule adapted to the schools and institutes of the urban area and the districts.

Weekends will be incorporated into the general surveillance and control of the Local Police, reinforcing the staff.
