The beneficiaries of the aid -which also include families in vulnerable situations- receive 550 euros per month for a maximum of three years, to be able to pay the monthly rent and supply costs The first ones have been granted in Caravaca and their objective is to guarantee the right to housing and avoid evictions in this situation aggravated by the pandemic The general director of Housing, accompanied by the director of Women and Gender Diversity, the councilors of Women and Social Services of Caravaca de la Cruz and the president of Cáritas have reported the new rental contracts, which are possible thanks to the agreement signed by the Autonomous Community with Cáritas, Jesús Abandonado and Columbares Women victims of gender violence who are users of the CAVI of Caravaca de la Cruz receive public aid of 550 euros per month for a maximum of three years, to be able to pay the monthly rental income and the expenses of supplies of your new home.

These are the first grants awarded within the framework of the agreement signed by the Autonomous Community with Cáritas, Jesús Abandonado and Columbares, which has a budget of 3.1 million euros. This line of aid was expanded in August to anticipate the consequences of the coronavirus and guarantee a home for all citizens of the Region, especially the most vulnerable and victims of sexist violence, and prevent anyone from being left on the street for any reason of the economic and social crisis caused by the pandemic. The general director of Housing, José Francisco Lajara, accompanied by the director of Women and Gender Diversity, María José García, the councilors of Women and Social Services of Caravaca de la Cruz, Mónica Sánchez and Isabel López, respectively, and the president of Cáritas, José Antonio Planes, today presented the three new rental contracts, which have been made possible thanks to these grants "We give an urgent response to the housing problems of social groups at risk of social exclusion due to the crisis caused by the pandemic," said Lajara, who noted that the first aid "comes to cover the immediate needs of these women and their respective children.

" For its part, the Councilor for Women and Equality, thanked this line of aid, "which will not leave anyone behind in this delicate situation that we are going through." Sánchez highlighted that the City Council, since the beginning of the pandemic, has established numerous measures to alleviate the economic effects of the health crisis, reinforcing aid that is managed either directly from the City Council or through NGOs and associations such as Cáritas or Cruz Red "The most vulnerable sectors of the population are especially recipients of these aids that the City Council has established," added the mayor. Direct award of aid The general director of Housing has highlighted the management system of these aids that are carried out through "direct award" to tenants of their habitual residence who, as a consequence of the economic and social impact of covid-19, have transitory problems to pay partial or total rent. Municipalities collaborate in the granting of aid promoted by the Autonomous Community, through their social services and specialized care centers for women victims of violence (CAVI), and the three NGOs that serve the recipients of the aid: Cáritas , Jesus Abandoned and Columbares. He highlighted the work of non-profit organizations, which are in charge of making a diagnosis of the people requesting help and assessing, together with the municipal social services, the situation of each one to finally grant the aid, based on the corresponding justification, and the time period. The aid, which is part of the Housing Plan, may amount to 550 euros per month per family.

On the one hand, the rental of the home will be taken care of, with 350 euros per month and, on the other, the expenses of basic supplies, maintenance and community will be covered with up to 200 euros per month.
