The mayor of Caracas also thanked "the strong support that the Animal Welfare Board has obtained, with a prominent presence of stakeholders, while having words of special thanks to the volunteer association 'Econciencia', for the collaboration they have been giving the newly created Department in this City Council with the name of Animal Welfare ". "In this way, we will update a municipal regulation totally outdated for years, by virtue of the Law of the Region of Murcia for the Protection and Defense of Companion Animals," he said. The Department of Animal Welfare, in addition to preparing the draft ordinance presented at the table, has promoted another series of initiatives such as a protocol of action in cases of abandonment to guarantee zero sacrifice, awareness campaigns and canine education days, among others initiatives.
