Participation is free, but to control access and capacity it is necessary to register in advance at the Tourist Information Point in Plaza del Arco. This novel activity, which is held coinciding with the time of greatest activity of the Perseid rain, popularly known as' Tears of San Lorenzo ', brings astronomy to all audiences and is part of the municipal program' Es Verano en Caravaca '.

It is sponsored by the Camino de la Cruz Foundation, with the collaboration of the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council and the Department of Tourism and Sports of the Region of Murcia. 'What is (not) seen in Caravaca.

A unique experience among the stars' travel through visible constellations, discover stars escaping pollution, search for planets and unveil objects, stories and questions hidden in the night sky.

It has an original dramaturgy by Fernando de Retes and María Prado, loaded with astronomy, music and humor and premiered in the contemporary creation space 'El Matadero de Madrid'. It will be adapted to the history of Caravaca de la Cruz and creates links between astronomy, art and society, including references to heritage, outstanding events and local music.

Neither will the contributions to this field by great historical figures such as Ibn Arabi or Alfonso X el Sabio or the relevance of the passage of 'The three cultures' be lacking. 'What is (not) seen' adapts to the astronomical conditions of Caravaca and this time of year.

Therefore, in addition to the rain of stars, which on that date usually produce about 110 meteors per hour, we will talk about the constellations (Greater and Lesser Bears, Boyero, Hercules, Swan, Lyre, Eagle, as well as the 'Summer Triangle ', consisting of Scorpio, Sagittarius and Virgo).

There will also be references to planets like Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto or the Milky Way and Sagittarius A *, the black hole at the center of the galaxy. The Tourist Information Point is located in Plaza del Arco with Cuesta del Castillo (hours from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:30 to 19:30 from Monday to Friday; Saturdays from 10:30 to 14:00 and Sundays in the morning).

City Council Program 'It's summer in Caravaca' In order to reach all audiences and diversify the offer of cultural and leisure activities to comply with the COVID-19 prevention protocol, the City Council launched a program with the generic title 'It's Summer in Caravaca', made up of more of 200 activities in the urban area and districts. All of them are held in compliance with the regulations of regulated public activities, under a prevention and safety protocol, which last week was reinforced with new measures, including capacity reduction, access control, use of a mask, seated public and social distancing, among other measures. The objective has been to expand the number of proposals so that residents and visitors can enjoy a safe summer, while supporting a sector such as culture and other sectors of the local economy, without forgetting other important aspects such as initiatives for children and young people, which also facilitate their leisure and the reconciliation of work and family life. The program maintains consolidated activities such as the concert cycle 'A la luna de Barranda', theatrical visits or the summer cinema, but it has introduced multiple novelties such as the Drive-in cinema, 'The Nights of the Museums', the Multigames for conciliation, the cycle of concerts in districts of the Caravaca Musical Group, the tour 'A legendary place' through Las Fuentes del Marqués or the heritage education program 'Knowing our past', among others.

They stand out as novel bets for celebrating this month of August the concert of 'Los Secretos' and this astronomical show premiered' What (not) is seen in Caravaca.

A unique experience among the stars.
