| The counselor of the Presidency and the Treasury signs an agreement with the mayor of the town that increases to 35 the number of offices in municipalities, which means covering 89 percent of the population | The Tax Agency of the Region has increased its network of local offices with a new headquarters in Caravaca de la Cruz that will allow its citizens to manage their taxes in an agile and close manner.

The counselor of the Presidency and the Treasury, Javier Celdrán, today signed a collaboration agreement with the mayor of the town, José Francisco García, which brings the number of offices in the municipalities to 33 (to which must be added those of Murcia and Cartagena ), which means that 89 percent of the Region's population has an office in their locality. Through these agreements, the Tax Agency collaborates in the management of local tax collection such as the Economic Activities Tax (IAE), the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles (IVTM) or the Real Estate Tax (IBI). This collaboration allowed last year to reach a collection of 156 million euros for the 32 municipalities with which it had an agreement so far, which is 8.78 percent more than the previous year and a historical record for this body. These agreements also mean greater accessibility and a higher quality service for the residents of these towns.

Thus, for example, during 2019 a total of 87,426 card payments were recorded for an amount greater than 8 million and that means that 65.64 percent were made electronically.

In addition, 11,043 tax deferrals and installments were resolved and the telephone attention service increased 4 percent, with 87,560 calls answered. During the signing of the agreement, the head of the Treasury stressed that these data, "as well as this new collaboration agreement, represent yet another example of the commitment of the regional government to the municipalities of the Region and its inhabitants, facilitating on the one hand the city ??councils the collection of taxes and making available to the citizens all the means, services and attention of the Tax Agency ". This new office will specifically allow the residents of the town to carry out all those procedures related to the Tax on Economic Activities (IAE), the Tax on Patrimonial Transmissions and Documented Legal Acts and the Tax on Successions and Donations, as well as the procedures related to traffic fines. The office will have five professionals to attend to the citizen and in it the residents of Caravaca will be able to consult information on debt notifications in the executive period, request deferrals or fractionation of debts, present appeals, or receive help in filing the aforementioned tax models.
