The City Council of Caravaca reinforces the Local Police with a new agent (05/05/2020)

| Adding five additions to the staff in the last quarter | The Department of Citizen Security calls for greater citizen collaboration to avoid uncivil behavior and respect the regulations of the Royal Decree of the State of Alarm regarding walks and sports activities The Police will carry out daily controls in green or pedestrian areas, such as the Camino del Huerto and the Fuentes del Marqués, to sanction group departures and other behaviors that are not allowed Since the order came into force last Saturday, the agents have made nearly fifty complaints that range from 600 euros onwards The Police Coordination Table schedules the distribution of 8,000 masks, sent by the Government Delegation and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has increased the staff of the Local Police with a new cash, with which there are already five new additions in the last quarter.

The new police officer has taken possession in the presence of the mayor, José Francisco García, of the councilor responsible for the Personnel area, Ana Belén Martínez, and the chief police inspector, Juan Moya. David López Martínez, with twelve years of experience and from the Calasparra Police, has promised his position as a career official and has begun to serve.

He enters the position by means of a swap regime, filling a vacancy that had not been filled in recent years because another agent was on the Service Commission. "The staff of the Local Police had been greatly reduced in recent years for the size and needs of the municipality and this was detrimental to the quality of an essential public service such as citizen security, so in recent months we have worked to make the incorporation of five new troops a reality, one of them as chief inspector, "recalled the mayor, José Francisco García. The mayor has advanced that it is planned to continue incorporating members of the Local Police staff with the aim of covering the retirements and vacancies that have been accumulating until leaving the body in a precarious situation.

"In the new municipal budgets, recently approved, the economic endowment is contemplated to convene a selective process of eight new agents, since improving citizen security in the urban area and in the districts is one of the fundamental pillars of this team's project of government". José Francisco García has revealed the fundamental role that the Local Police, together with the Civil Guard, is playing to ensure compliance with the orders transferred from the Ministry of the Interior in the state of alarm, "but it is useless if we do not continue counting on the responsibility and the civility that the caravaqueños have demonstrated these past weeks ". The Department of Citizen Security calls for greater citizen collaboration and increases controls in pedestrian areas On the other hand, from the Department of Citizen Security they report that a new Police Coordination Table has been convened to increase controls in pedestrian areas and green spaces in order to comply with the rules and time slots in the walks and activities allowed in the Royal Decree.

Since the entry into force of this order last Saturday, almost fifty sanctions have been placed, ranging from 600 euros onwards. This Police Coordination Table also organizes the distribution of the 8,000 masks that are delivered from the Delegation of the Government of the Region of Murcia, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities, the Federation of Municipalities of the Region, intended for public transport, roads circulation and access to work centers (industrial estates or areas of activity), as well as the protection of essential services personnel and vulnerable groups. From the Department of Citizen Security they make an express call for collaboration and citizen responsibility, since it has been verified in the last three days, through the Police itself and citizen complaints, that there are neighbors who do not comply with the mandatory measures of the zero phase of de-escalation, not respecting social distancing and even making group outings, something that is totally prohibited in the new regulations. "We are aware that the measures have generated a lot of confusion because they are complex and they were also announced in the BOE a few hours before they were launched, but citizens must already know them and we are obliged to respect them," said the Councilor for Citizen Security, José Santiago Villa. In this sense, "the greatest problems occur in the time slot from 8:00 p.m.

to 10:00 p.m., in the areas of the Camino del Huerto and the Fuentes del Marqués, so we ask Caravaqueños to use other alternative spaces to avoid problems crowding, at the same time we recommend walking on the right sidewalks and pedestrian areas.
