"The operation was immediately organized in a Police Coordination Table that we convened urgently and the distribution has begun first thing in the morning with all the means at our disposal," he said.

Reinforcement in districts

For the second time since the coronavirus health alert was activated, forest brigades have been deployed in the municipality with fire engines to reinforce the Municipal Disinfection Plan.

On this occasion, the work has focused on the districts and the Cavila Industrial Estate.

BRIFOR personnel have acted in a total of 42 areas spread across rural population centers, including medical offices, pharmacies, banks, stores of basic necessities, social centers, parks and green areas.

The mayor -who has participated in the start of the operation, along with the councilors for the Environment, Ana Belén Martínez, and Pedanías, José Antonio García- has detailed that "this new prevention measure is possible thanks to the human and technical means provided by the General Directorate of the Natural Environment and the direct collaboration of the pedáneo mayors, who have facilitated the numerous points of action ".

The 41 troops have been distributed in four work teams deployed in Barranda, Archivel, Benablón, Navares, Caneja, Singla, Pinilla, La Encarnación, La Almudema, El Moral, Moralejo, Los Royos, as well as in the Cavila industrial estate.

In addition, in these places, BRIFOR personnel have once again carried out disinfection tasks in especially sensitive buildings in the urban area, such as the Comarcal del Noroeste Hospital, the Health Center or the nursing home on the Camino de Mayrena.

Distribution of masks to workers

The agents of the Local Police and the Civil Guard have started the distribution of the first hygienic masks sent by the Ministry of Health.

The distribution takes place during the first days of the week, from six to nine in the morning, at the fixed traffic control points.

Coinciding with the work entry time, the Department of Citizen Security has established a fixed distribution point on the old Murcia road, opposite the Civil Guard Barracks, and a second distribution point at the main access roundabout to Caravaca.

In addition, the Caravaqueño City Council has decided to implement a mobile delivery system with Civil Protection volunteers, with which companies can contact by phone 663 79 47 68.

"From the Government Delegation we have been informed that these six thousand masks are intended exclusively for workers who have to go to their work centers.

In this sense, the mayor recalled that "pharmacies throughout Spain suffer shortages of masks and gloves during these weeks and a month later there are still serious problems in acquiring something so basic and essential for medical trips and for purchases or negotiations. basic allowed within confinement measures. "

José Francisco García has once again shown his appreciation for the numerous solidarity donations from local companies and groups: "They have turned to manufacturing and supplying face masks, gloves, gowns and even protection screens for the places of greatest risk that have been of great concern since the state of alarm began, as and the homes for the elderly and people with disabilities.
