With this initiative of the Department of Tourism offers a new cultural experience, which allows you to get closer to the heritage of the city without leaving home

The visits begin this Wednesday and Saturday, April 8 and 11, at 12 noon, remembering the exhibition 'Mystics' of the Society of Jesus

Other spaces included in the program - carried out thanks to the work contributed by the local company Inmocruz - will be the House Museum of the Wine Horses, the old convent of San José and the exhibition of old toys of the Museum of the Festival

The City of Caravaca de la Cruz presents a pioneering program of virtual guided tours, which can be followed live through social networks.

The first of these tours will be to the exhibition 'Mystics', to continue through the House-Museum of the Wine Horses, the old convent of San José and the exhibition of 'Old toys' from the Carlos Fuentesque collection that housed the Museum of Party.

With this initiative promoted by the Department of Tourism, the resources of the municipality continue to be promoted, while offering a free cultural activity for these weeks of confinement caused by COVID-19.

An alternative to physical tourist visits - currently interrupted by the health alert - that achieves great realism thanks to the application of new technologies.

The councilor who runs the area, José Carlos Gómez, has pointed out that "this is a novel project in Caravaca de la Cruz, which will allow you to visit museums and exhibitions in great detail, in an enveloping way and without leaving home. In addition, these visits will be accompanied by explanations from expert guides in real time. "

"A didactic experience that transports us directly to places that we do not yet know or that we would like to see again, so it is a proposal designed for both caravaqueños themselves and potential tourists," as José Carlos Gómez has pointed out.

In this way, added the councilor, the Tourism area joins the online programming 'Caravaca stays at Home', in which other councils of the Municipal Government participate in order to launch proposals for leisure, culture, tourism and sport for all audiences.

The Department of Tourism appreciates the work carried out by the local company 'Inmocruz', a pioneer in the development of this type of project, which has altruistically contributed the technology and hours of work to digitize the spaces in 3D and High Definition.

This work has been reinforced from the Tourism area with explanations that historians, museum directors or experts will perform live for those who participate in the virtual visit through the Facebook page Caravaca Tourism.

All visits will start at 12 noon and will be presented by municipal guide Elena Rivero.

The first one will be this Wednesday and Saturday, April 8 and 11, to remember the 'Mystics' exhibition, which hosted the old church of the Society of Jesus, with works of painting and universal sculpture linked to the figures of Saint John and Saint Teresa of Jesus.

The visit will be in charge of Ana Coronado, the art historian who was her official guide.

On Wednesday, April 15 and 22, the doors of the Casa-Museo de los Caballos del Vino will virtually open, led by its director, Juan López García, who, through the different rooms that make up this restored 17th-century building , will delve the viewer into the roots and present of a celebration that is a candidate to be declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

On Saturdays, 18 and 25, the virtual visit will be to the convent of San José, foundation of Santa Teresa in 1576. In this case, it will be guided by the historian Diego Marín Ruiz de Assín, who will discover the rooms as a Carmelite closing space, since that the building has been fully digitized by Inmocruz.

The virtual visit program will close with the exhibition of 'Old Toys', from the private collection of Carlos Fuentes Zambudio, which offers a tour for all audiences with emblematic pieces from the first half of the 20th century, which were made in places with important toy tradition such as Ibi, Denia and Murcia.

The dates of this last tour are yet to be determined.
