The Caravaca City Council reports that the Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence continues to provide daily service by telematic means (01/04/2020)

The Councilor for Women and Equality has indicated that this is one of the essential minimum services stipulated by the City Council during the state of alarm by COVID19 and "that victims of abuse must know that they are not alone now either"

The City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz reports that, while the measures of the state of alarm by Covid-19 remain active, the Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) continues to provide its services electronically, with the monitoring of users and attention to new cases that may occur.

"Any woman who may need this service should know that now she is not alone either and that she can contact for advice or consultation with the professionals of the center through the usual telephones," stressed the councilor responsible for the municipal area of ​​Women and Equal Opportunities. , Mónica García.

The mayor has also recalled that the City Council is making an effort to ensure all the minimum services, especially those related to social benefits aimed at especially vulnerable population groups, such as the case of CAVI.

"The state of confinement or social isolation in homes can be especially difficult or dangerous for women exposed to a situation of abuse or gender violence, which is why we continue to provide this service, which has advice and consultation to provide all the information and support in situations of vulnerability ".

Contact with the professionals of the Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) is made through the telephones 968722222 and 660034660, from 9.00 to 14.00, from Monday to Friday.

In addition, the '016', a national telephone service for attention and advice on gender violence, provides its services 24 hours a day and in 51 languages.

The Care Center for Women Victims of Gender Violence is staffed by a multidisciplinary team made up of a social worker, a lawyer and a psychologist.

Since its launch, it has served more than a thousand users in the different municipalities of the Northwest and last year there were about 90 new users.

Caravaca was in 2006 a pioneer municipality in decentralizing the capital's Specialized Care Center for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) in the capital and implanting it in the municipality.
