José Francisco García has sent a message of tranquility to the population, stressing that no positive case has yet been detected in Caravaca de la Cruz and indicating that decisions will be taken day by day based on the evolution of the situation
The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has canceled or postponed all the acts that were planned for this week to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, a decision that has been taken this morning at the meeting chaired by the mayor, José Francisco García, and to which members of the Government team, Local Police, municipal technicians, health professionals such as the manager of Area IV of Health, Civil Protection, Red Cross, the director of the Nursing Home and other social agents involved.
"Public health is a priority, and for this reason we have held a meeting in relation to the episode of coronavirus that is being experienced in the national and regional scene, in order to adopt the appropriate and responsible decisions that we must take at each moment of the hand of the health professionals and following the indications of the regional authorities ", explained José Francisco García.
At the meeting, the assessment of the situation was analyzed, establishing a series of recommendations.

Suspended events organized by the Consistory
The first decision taken has been to suspend the events organized by the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz or that mean transit of people between communities, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, among which are guided tourist visits to the historic center;
the Pilgrim Market that is held monthly at La Corredera;
the first of the guided visits by districts that were to be carried out in Vélez Blanco and María;
the D'Ruta activity between El Sabinar and Caravaca of the Department of Sports or the act of reception to the mayor of SigÃ¼enza in the City Council on the occasion of the twinning of the Armaos de la Vera Cruz with those of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulcher of this town .
The activities planned for March 13 and 17 of International Women's Day are also postponed.
It also confirms the postponement of the second edition of the Assota Trail test that was going to displace a thousand participants from all over Spain.
The organizers of the event are already working hand in hand with the City Council to set a new date.
All sports activities are suspended and postponed, according to the measures adopted by the General Directorate of Sports, in agreement with the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions, and the Municipalities and Sports Federations of the Region of Murcia.
The mayor has asked for caution and common sense, recommending that school trips to other areas not be held.
José Francisco García has stressed that these recommendations are for this week, since the evolution of the coronavirus is uncertain and decisions will have to be made day by day and always following the recommendations of the competent authorities.
For this reason, another follow-up and co-ordination meeting will be held next week.
Events scheduled outside the City Council
In addition, the Sovereign Order of the Temple has canceled its Medieval Dinner scheduled for Saturday, March 14, and maintains contact with the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Blessed and Vera Cruz and its Celebration Commission to jointly adopt a decision on the acts organized by said entities, external to the Consistory.
The City Council will contact the rest of the private associations of the municipality that organize events this week to transfer the recommendations from the Autonomous Community and the Ministry of Health, in order to jointly adopt a decision on the regulations organized by entities external

The City Council has been updating in its official communication channels the information provided by authorized bodies, disseminating infographics and videos on prevention measures.
Cleaning services launched at City Hall
The following actions have been implemented in the City Hall units:
-Provision of disinfectant Hydrogel in signing points and in the different departments.
-Revision of liquid soap dispensing in toilets.
-Clean municipal facilities with disinfectant products.
