The PSOE ensures that the report for the appointment of the inspector-chief of the local police "omits the Law governing the Local Police of the Region of Murcia" (04/03/2020)

"From the Municipal Socialist Group we respond to the reoccurring and unconvincing statements of the Councilor for Public Safety"

In previous days and in the plenary session of February 26, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Mr. Villa spoke on the issue of the appointment of the chief inspector in the police of Caravaca de la Cruz and from our group we want to remind the councilor of Citizen Security the Law of Coordination of Local Police of the Region of Murcia, fully in force since last October 2019, which is the one that concerns us and quoted textually:

Article 26: Headquarters of the Local Police Corps.

In the event of a vacancy, absence or illness of the official holding the post, the functions will be performed by a person in the same category, if any;

in case of non-existence, by an official of the immediately inferior category, designated by the mayor or mayor at the proposal of the Head of the Body.

If the immediate lower category is that of Agent or Subinspector and the City Council has structured the category in degrees, the designated official must necessarily be First Agent or Subinspector.

This replacement will always be temporary, and in the cases of vacancy, the definitive coverage of the position must be carried out within a maximum period of four months.

The Municipal Socialist group declares and denounces the lack of transparency and publicity carried out for the process of appointing the new police inspector and, what is more serious, the lack of observation and neglect in compliance with the law.

Regarding this issue, we want to highlight that the report sent by the secretary of the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz was made after the appointment of the position and because it was required by the Municipal Socialist Group, in addition to being a custom-made report and that does not answer any of the questions requested by the PSOE and for more inri this was delivered to a media before those who requested it.

Because the report "created to measure" and according to the mayor himself "demolishing" does not answer the questions asked by the Municipal Socialist Group and does not convince the citizens of Caravaca de la Cruz, in the past few days they proceeded to register the Request for a new report answering these questions:

1. Where then was the urgent and imperative need?

2. Where were the appropriate and motivated reasons of "urgency and unplayable need" given by you mentioned?

The report issued is a justification of the Service Commission, but obviating any mention of the Law governing local police in the Region of Murcia.

We also request that you provide the documents that supported, according to Mr. Villa, this process and the Public Administrations that were specifically pronounced.

From the PSOE we believe that the Councilor for Citizen Security has been too hurried to make the appointment, prepare the oath of office, summon the media, sell it as usual by hype and saucer, but has forgotten to CALL what is published in the Offer Public Employment.

Mr. Villa refers to the "real measures" that have allowed the entry of three new Agents into the Corps, we want to remember that these Agents were incorporated by means of a Call published and promoted by the SOCIALIST Government team in 2019.

And finally we ask and urge the Group of Citizens, a government partner of the PP of Caravaca de la Cruz, to face and rule on this muddy and tangled issue.
