Art, literature and sport to express the commitment of the caravaqueña society with equality within the events of the 'International Women's Day' (26/02/2020)

'Women to the letter', 'Literary meeting of female characters', 'Theater and literature for equality' and the collective exhibition 'Hypatia' or the Third Mark for Equality this Sunday are some of the initiatives presented

The institutional act, with the delivery of distinctions, will take place on March 8, at 8:00 p.m., in the old Church of the Company

Theater, literature, cinema, history, music and sport shake hands in the programming that the City Council of Caravaca de la Cruz has prepared to commemorate the 'International Women's Day' and that has been presented by the councilor responsible for the area, Mónica Sánchez, accompanied by representatives of different associations, groups, artists and local writers who collaborate in it.

From March 1 to 18, a dozen activities will take place, with which the commitment of the caravaqueña society with the true and effective equality between men and women, both in the professional and personal spheres, is to be demonstrated.

"It is a worldwide commemoration that takes stock of the many progress and challenges achieved in the field of women's rights, but also serves to draw attention to the inequalities that continue to occur in the 21st century," said the caravaqueña councilor.

The activities of the 'International Women's Day begin this Sunday, March 1, with the III March for Equality, which will begin at 10 am, leaving from Paseo de La Corredera.

This is an activity organized by the Albávides Cábila Women's Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Caravaca de la Cruz City Council, which allocates part of its collection to the Association against Domestic Violence of the Region of Murcia 'AVIDA'.

On March 3, the 'Tea and paper' workshop will be held, aimed at users of the Center for Attention to Women Victims of Gender Violence and on the 8th of the event the central events of the program will take place with the coexistence of women's associations of the municipality (9.30 hours), the inauguration of the exhibition of collective art 'Hypatia 2020' in the hall of the Company of Jesus (12.30 hours), and the institutional act, with the delivery of distinctions, which will also take place in the Company ( 20.00 hours).

The activities will resume on March 10, at 7.30 pm, in the Carrilero Museum, with the activity 'Theater and literature for equality', by the writing workshop, in collaboration with the Conservatory of Music 'Leandro Martínez Romero' and the Municipal Theater School.

The 'Rosas Negras' Reading Club also joins the 'International Women's Day' program with the activity 'Women at the foot of the letter', which will take place on March 13, at 7.30 pm, in the Plaza from the José Carrilero Museum.

Literature as a vehicle to claim equality will once again star in the event scheduled for March 17, at 8:00 p.m., in the Carrilero Museum, with the 'Literary Encounters of Female Characters', which will be attended by Luis Leante, who He will talk about Montse Cambra, protagonist of his novel Alfagurara Prize 'Look if I will love you'

The cinema will star in the last activity of 'Women's Day 2020' on March 18 with the cineforum of 'Red Cross Youth' at the facilities of the Young Center.

At 4:00 pm 'Brave' (indomitable) will be screened and at 6:00 pm 'The fountain of women'.

The theme of International Women's Day (March 8) 2020 determined by the UN is 'I am of the Generation Equality: For the rights of women'.
